| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: Graphics Card Performance and Classification FWIW - only reason *I* knew is because I searched for my card - and when I only found one instance of 8800, I read a bit closer - and noticed all the Ms and Mobiles. At that point I figured out why the list was important - because laptop owners / purchasers / users don't get near as much detail on whether their cards will / will not run certain games.... |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Graphics Card Performance and Classification Bought a laptop couple of days ago. It has the Mirage 3 671MX card. I've got a fair understanding of laptops but none regarding the cards. Asked the sales people if this would be a good allaround card, e.g movies, apps, games "Oh yes, it will defenetly work with the latest games". Did not. |

| Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 | Re: Graphics Card Performance and Classification Ouch! Thats a bottom of the barrel integrated card. Mirage 3 671MX Class 6 Unsuitable for Games - These graphics cards for notebooks are not suitable for games. If they run, they may run with graphical errors and very low frame rates. For gamers these chips are not suitable! Office and internet tasks are, to the contrary, no problem for these GPUs. Ps- if you want a gaming notebook get one with either a class 1 or class 2 gpu. (copy/print the list above and take it with you. Also I recommend a 2.0 Ghz core2duo cpu(processor) minimum. I dont know how much you paid for it, but you can get a gaming rig from around $850. | Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Graphics Card Performance and Classification I bought it last Sunday, so returning it will hopefully not prove to be a problem. It has Core2Duo 1.8 Ghz, 2 GB DDR2. The thing is, I didn't buy it only to play games. But I still wanna be able to play a reasonable new game and seing as my knowlege on mobile graphic cards isn't that good I asked. I'm living in Ireland but I'm not orignally from here so I know about the laws regarding returning products but since it's less then seven days ago that should not be a problem. They have another laptop that has a better graphic card, CPU etc. so hopefully they will not mind me paying some extra money upgrading to that. I paid 629 Euro it. I wouldn't mind the Santa Rosa platform. |

| Vista Ultimate / XP Platinum | Re: Graphics Card Performance and Classification Hey, I'm doing some gaming on a game called Counter Strike: Source (a game made in 2004). I was wondering if I'd be able to run the game with relatively normal to high settings with a Nvidia quadro NVS 130M. I'm not looking for intense gaming or any thing but i was also wondering if I can play some of the newer games from lets say 2006. (Unfortunately I tend to like older games !?!) |
