| Vista Home Premium x64 | DXDIAG memory indicator Hi I have just switched to Vista x64 from Vista x32. I have 4 gb DDR2 ram and my system information shows this. When I run the DXDIAG and 3D mark vantage they are indicating I only have 2.6gb ram,,,,,,,, I am assuming it is these programmes that are showing the wrong information is this correct Thanks |

| Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 | Re: DXDIAG memory indicator i have funny readings in dxdiag too. Show my gfx card ram as 2.5gb, even tho its only 512mb. As long as it says 4gb in taks manager performance section i wouldnt worry. |

| Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 | Re: DXDIAG memory indicator if im not mistaken, the appropriated message means all 4gb of ram cant be adressed because other devices' ram is taking up the limit. Ie a 512mb gfx card will cause ur ram count to drop to 3.5gb. But this only happens with the 32 bit, & judging by ur dxdiag, u definatly have the 64 bit version installed. what board do u have? Perhaps their is a setting in the bios u have to change. |

| Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 | Re: DXDIAG memory indicator did some investigating on that board. check ur bios for a "memory remap" feature. If its there, it should have 2 options "32Bit OS Disable" & "64Bit Os Enable" You need to choose "64Bit Os Enable". Hopefully ur bios will show as 4gb ram & no longer say being appropriated. I have read comments that say your o/s will need to be reinstalled after changing this option because windows wont have the drivers loaded for that option. |
