another vista resolution problem

I am on vista home basic and I have the nvidia geforce 7300 gs. I have had this for about two years. I reinstalled what I thought were new drivers for the card several weeks ago to fix another problem. I come home and boot up and I can't get the higher screen resolution that was on my computer 12 hours ago. It won't let me roll back the drivers either. I looked through all the other posts and I couldn't find anything that could help me. Thanks.

Re: another vista resolution problem

Hi, harrism009, and welcome to the forums.

Try uninstalling the driver completely and rebooting and letting Vista pick the driver. If it doesn't pick one then install the new one again.

Re: another vista resolution problem

i had a similar problem, I resolved it by powering off the monitor at the mains for a minute or so. when I turned it back on, the resolution settings where available again.
note that just switching the monitor off by the front switch did not work.
