Hellow everyone I am new to this. this is my first time posting anything on the net. But i am stuck. 4 mouths ago I bought a HP DV9700 with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS 512mb card in it. It has vista ultma X64, and every time i try to run one of my games (Neverwinter nights, Dungeon Lords, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic or Oblivion) the vido drivers stop working after about 30 minuets. I have gone to NVIDIA and thay say that HP is handling the drives because of the QuickPlay that comes on the laptop, and HP has no fix for my problem. I could realy use some help. thanks

You can try new drivers from Laptopvideo2go.com the problem is that if they are not certified you will not be able to run your blueray or HD DVD drive.

When you say your drivers stop working, what exactly do you mean?

I get a message that say vids drivers have stoped responding and recoverd,

Hi, davidniskern, and welcome to the forums.

I'd demand satisfaction from HP, or else demand your money back from them. That will get them rolling in the right direction - I bet even money they have beta drivers they are not releasing that they will let you use if you apply enough pressure on them....

Also, have you looked into uninstalling that QuickPlay thing until HP gets it sorted out?

Check the event viewer, if your error message is like this "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" then google that string and keep reading, there are many so called solutions

Like I said before I have tried many things, I would not like to do another install or restore. I was hoping I could find someone who could help me with a fix that will work, without locking up my laptop. If I can't get this going right I will probably just use the laptop for work, and build another desk top for my gamming needs. I think my problem is trying to get the drivers to operate with the hardware that hp has on this rig. I will keep looking back and checking. And I thank all of you for your help

I did ask about that and you never answered.
