What catalyst drivers? Which ATI graphics card? I had problems on my card but its cuz mines from ASUS and the software that came with it conflicted with Catalyst Control Center.

just installed 8.8 the problems been there for all previous versions

ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO

i originally thought it was media portal causing it
two days ago i changed the connections from hdmi and dvi to hdmi and dsub connections and touch wood no problems yet
but i have had it run for five days without getting display driver not responding so i will see what happens

ps i have just found that installing sql server 2008 breaks the ati installer for the drivers as well

I'm having dual monitor issues only when I return from sleep mode. I posted a thread for the full info, but I found some information that may help you? It didn't help me but give it a go.
