Looking for 22" monitor that can pivot

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a 22" monitor that can pivot 90 degrees. I like to work on code with my second monitor, its mostly text so color quality is not a factor. However, price is. I can afford $300, most pivot monitors I've seen are well over $400. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

If you can find an HP w2207 they are about $300 or less if used. They are great monitors for pretty much anything but they are getting harder to find. There's also the w2207h but it's a bit more expensive I think, it's a newer model but basically the same monitor.

The newer model is the one he listed with the H. and that's cuz the new model has the HDMI port.

Also there is something called Google. just search for Pivot screen 22 Inch LCD
although I think that might be one of the only ones in 22.. I know there is a 21.6 inch screen from Dell with the pivot.

also the 22 Inch for pivot are'nt that great cuz the viewing angle's are very bad on 22's. so it gets really bad when pivoted.

I know more MFG's have it on smaller sizes. I'd recommend the Dell 2007FP.
it's a GREAT screen. I had it and it's 1905FP freind. they both pivot and look great. better than the pricey HP. I have a friend that has two of the dell 2007FP's side by side in Pivot mode. it looks very very good. I almost went that route, but already had one 22. so stuck with it.

Another that does it is this one. and it looks good also. slightly better viewing angles.
Viewsonic 2030b
good luck

Stands are for the birds... :) Instead of getting a monitor that pivots, get an lcd monitor arm that does that and more.

yup. attach it to the wall. pull it out and you can angle, or turn it anywhere you'd like. get the ones that are more than just up and down if you get an arm. They are very convenient.

Thanks for the replies, as of this moment I'm considering this LG W2242P screen that has pivot unless anyone's got objections. Also the reason I cannot use a wall mount is cuz I may need to move my computer around the house from time to time, which makes the wall mount absolutely useless. For the extra price i pay for a wall mount, i could put it into a stand and have it easily moved.

It doesn't have to be a wall mount. They make models that clamp onto any desk.

I have a 226BW, and the 2253BW. how do you like it so far?? how's your backlight bleeding?

Actually I really love this monitor. Colors came out clean right out of the box. I was lucky and got absolutely no dead pixels, i spent a good 10 minutes believing there had to be some. As for backlight bleed, its there but its nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Its completely unoticeable under normal applications and even when I'm in photoshop working on pure blacks. Overall its an excellent monitor for the price I paid.

As for having a second one, I would but it doesn't pivot 90 degrees unfortunately. Unless I can find a desk mount for it theres no way I can spend another $200+ on a monitor that doesn't pivot. Thats why im waiting for the LG screen to dip in a price a little bit.

oh i c.

ya I love the monitor so far myself.. Colors were near perfect. took a minute to get the whites right, but thats about it. Just set the contrast. other than that it's great. and I also have NO dead pixels I was very happy about that.

well good luck, and let us know how that LG performs.. mkay.

and Sorry Fumz, but It's not for you. maybe next time! :)
