Re: Too hot for a Nvidia 9600M GT?

well, thats probably gettin pretty close.. the GTX280's get well above the 80C area sometimes.

I'm sure thats fine, but I myself am always more comfortable when it's under 65C. thats just me. Try turning up the fan speed. It's probably set to be going at about 30% or less.

Program called RivaTuner will allow you to adjust the speed.
Have any questions feel free to ask.

turning up the fan speed will NOT viod your warranty. the fan to spin, thats what it's there for.. I use 65% or 70 on mine, stock is 40

Well now i ran into another problem. Ill go into the configuration and i change change the oc settings and whatever (which i didnt) but i dont have the option to switch my fan speed. It doesnt even give me the tab for it... Do you possibly know of any other software that can switch it?
Thanks,

Re: Too hot for a Nvidia 9600M GT?

wait, on Rivatuner you can't change the Fan speed.. im SURE you can. are you going to the right area?

there should be a bar with the fan.. you can adjust the slider up or down, you may have to click a check somewhere to allow you to slide the slider. but you should for sure be able to adjust that..

or even easier, less crap everywhere. download the eVGA Precision software.. you might not have a eVGA card.. but oh well. it should work fine, I've heard it work with peoples BFG 9600GT's. Give this a try. very easy to add fan speed, and OC the card. but be careful with Overclocking. ask questions first, don't risk frying the card Sir.. Mkay.

EVGA | EVGA Precision

also how was the concert. do you live in vegas. I'm in Henderson. and yes this city has WAY to many very hot girls. it's a little depressing because there's so many. and I only get a few a month. lol but I do pretty well.

update your system specs so we know ur stuff.. so I didn't have to guess if you have a eVGA card.. ya know!

Re: Too hot for a Nvidia 9600M GT?

Yea i live in Vegas its right on the border of henderson. Well you get more girls than me lol and the concert was great there were two chicks making out for the cameras and me and my friends were chillin on a bridge over the pool and they stopped right in front of us and had their back turned talking (btw they were in bikinis) my friend was like wow my camera sucks so i naturally pulled out my phone and snapped a couple shots :P. There were like 3 or 4 girls grinding a pole right before the concert and the bartenders were hot (and in bikinis :P). It was really fun! Yea let me also update my system specs real quick for you lol.
Oh yea and btw... Once AGAIN it wont let me switch my fan speed. I dont know if its because its a laptop or what but its aggravating me.

Re: Too hot for a Nvidia 9600M GT?

Hi masterjego...

following Gunther's posts ....Rivatuner does allow fan speed correction.

if your Rivatuner looks like this..
rt.jpg
then it is not recognizing your drivers..

solutions..

1... disable driver signing on startup.
2... uninstall Rivatuner & reinstall.. sometimes if you install new GPU drivers over the program it fails to work

Re: Too hot for a Nvidia 9600M GT?

Ya I'm on Stephanie and the 215. thats crazy. how old are you man?

sounds like a pretty good concert. post that picture you're saying you took.

So did you actually try Precision.. and I'm pretty sure you should still be able to turn it up even though it's a Laptop. I don't see why not. or doy uo possibly have a cooling pad that you sit it on while using it?
