| Vista Home Premium x64 | RivaTuner question I have NV's performance installed, to speed up my fan when playing games... do I need to uninstall it before using RT? Or will RT overtake the options, ( ie... fan speed ) |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: RivaTuner question yea it will probably cause a problem, just because they will both be trying to do something. try to disable NV performance first, or uninstall it. in Rivatuner you "Should" be able to completely adjust the fan speed to whatever you want. so when gaming go to 80% or whatever you want, then go lower when kjust on the computer. you can even make start-up profiles. give it a try. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: RivaTuner question OK. I read the user/beginner guide, alot like ATI tray tools I used in my XP rig...I'll uninstall performer... give RT a try.. I really need some profiles for the games and renderers... |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: RivaTuner question well, I uninstalled performance from NV, installed RT, tried to set up the threshold settings for automatic fan speed control and it wont go to the threshold screen. Not sure whats going on, I uninstalled. I'll have to mess with this tomorrow. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: RivaTuner question try using eVGA Precision, it's the best program I've found for overclocking, monitoring, and adjusting fan speeds for Nvidia cards. not to mention that it has 10 profiles you can make. I have 1 set for load on startup, for increase fan speed. 2 for monderate gaming, and 3 for extreme gaming where the cards Cranked up. thats all I'm using for now. but I will say that i like the clean professional look, and the clean freindly UI of precision much much more than RivaTuner. Give precision a try. EVGA | EVGA Precision |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: RivaTuner question I'll take a look....I posted the issue to a forum for RT, and they gave me a link thats for the older version, but says it works for this version too... but the differences are that in the tutI was using first, everything looked and worked jusdt as the pics and text said it should, till I got to the threshold settings, theres had the add ( + ) button to go ahead and create the core temp thresholds for the fan speed, the 2.10 version I had didnt give me that add button, the link's version of doing this says to use driver level.. the first used low-level... so now I'm not too sure whats what. Could be again for some reason I dont have this option available?? I know its only a 9800GT but...?? I'll take a look at it Gunther.. thanks man. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: RivaTuner question Came with the machine Gunther.....just a 9800GT 1GB card...I probably shouldnt bother....gonna give the go ahead to newegg for the 4870x2 on Friday...but I really like the fan running faster when I'm gaming so I'll probably go ahead and download it and see if I can set up a few profiles.. thanks again man. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: RivaTuner question Justb a quick note.. I did the other tut, and got things worked out in RT, Still havent figured out why I dont see the temps and fan profile shown in the OSD during game play... but I'll get it figured out...but yet another question... I was going to run fraps and RT during game play... any problems with these apps using resources and inhibiting game play? ( Cod4, Quake4, Crysis...) Frame rates in CoD4 were strange....I'll try to get a screen shot from fraps if i can with the display shown.... |
