| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: flickers with my e-gforce 6200 card Hi jonny, The 6200 is quite old as regards graphics cards go. You might get some improvement by updating to the latest driver, but the only real way to get any sort of improvement is to upgrade the card itself. A card from either the 8 or 9 series should do the job (I currently have an 8800GT). |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: flickers with my e-gforce 6200 card I agree with dwarf, johnny, your graphics card is bottlenecking that CPU of yours like hell. Remember that your pc is always as fast as it's slowest component (something dwarf taught me )and a x200 card from nvidia is like even older then mine and mine is crap already... If you can scrape together some cash maybe you should go for an 8800GT like dwarf, they're not that expensive anymore and very good cards (will see much better results! Gee I wish I had a 32"...). And if you want another performance boost you should maybe get another stick of ram, definitely now they've gotten so cheap... If you plan to buy a new GPU, post it here, we'll comment your choice (if you like of course... )Cheers, Amplid |

| Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit | Re: flickers with my e-gforce 6200 card am i the only one who notices the OP has 1 gig of RAM? I do believe you would be suffering massive paging, and possibly that could be causing the flickering? I think 2 gig is really the minimum RAM you could have and claim Vista to be able to play happily. |

You are unlikely to get any improvement graphically unless you upgrade your graphics card. In fact, given the choice, I would upgrade your graphics card first and then, when you have the necessary funds, your RAM. |

| Windows 7 x64 | Re: flickers with my e-gforce 6200 card With an MMO, a lot of problems with gameplay lag can be caused my RAM. If I was you, then I'd go for RAM first, especially as you have Vista. You would notice an increase in overall computer performance, not just games. Also take in to account what type of motherboard you have. The 6200 is an old card, so there's a chance it could be AGP. If it is, then you will be limited to only being able to upgrade to an Geforce 7 series (if you stick with Nvidia) without upgrading your motherboard. |
