SLI problem

running vista ultimate x64, 2.13 dual core intel, 2 gigs ram, front bus 800mhz, 2 nvidia 8500 GTs, anyways whenever i try to enable SLI through the nvidia control panal i freeze up for a sec then screen goes black with a white _ in the upper left corner of the screen then after about 5seconds the screen returns in a 800x600 res. at this point i can move my mouse around and click my start button in the lower left, but the nvidia control panal is froze on my screen and after about 1min it simply closes... then my video drivers in device manager shows yellow triangle with ! in it wont enable the installed drivers til i re install the drivers again.... i have tried drivers 175.16 175.19 and 177.89, none worked and yes i made sure to Download the drivers that said they were for vista x64.

on a side note... single card works great and no problems with any of those drivers installed..... also during that time with a single card running i can see both cards in the device manager installed with drivers and it says they are working. the only thing i havnt tried is switching the cards around... but i have had them in the spots they are now when i was running windows xp pro 32bit

I'd get ONE single 8800GT for $100 on newegg.com. it alone will be at least double the performance of 8500 in SLI..

other than that I'm not sure. sorry. I don't do SLI. I get the powerhouse single card and run with it

Have you tried upgrading the BIOS of your motherboard? Go to the motherboard manufacturers website and you should find something on there.

I had this problem with my SLI when I got my motherboard at the start of the year and after upgrading my BIOS, it worked fine.

Were they enabled for SLI when you were running them under Windows XP 32 and if they were, did they work okay?

Best and Warm Regards
