guys my friend has 8500gt and its frequencies are clock 500mhz/667 mem /1ghz shader
and its avg temp is 50-55 c .when he overclocked it to 625 mhz/667mhz/1.2ghz
its temp is 62 c without any external cooler.is it ok to use it like that
will it damage the graphic card
he just want it for one year:D

No... that thing at a temp of 62c is ok.. whats the Load temps.. when he's been playing a demanding game for 2 hours +.. find that out.

The best cooler IMHO for the 8500GT is the Zalman VF700 It's cheap. like $19.99 and it's SILENT.. and it dropped my temps on my 8600GT by about 7c. so he'd be under 56c or so with that.. tell him to get it. His fan is probably going full speed at that clock.. so it's got to be loud. tell him this will be SILENT.

Here's a picture of mine with the Zalman VF700

that should be ok, as long as there is no freezing. or the games are struggling or having ghosting. if thats not happening then it's ok. He should be ok for a decent while. but overclocking is always a risk of things not lasting as long. So in the end it's up to the user.
