| Vista Home Premium (6.0, build 6000) | Sims 2 suddenly not wanting to work. (?) Mmk, so, I am new. Anyway, my Sims 2 Double Deluxe used to work... For about 2 months. But, about 10 minutes ago, I tried to play again. An error came up. "Unable to retrieve a DirectX 9 adaptable graphics card!!" or whatnot. Somewhere along those lines. On my computer at my house (I am at my dads) it does the same thing, but I understand because the card is OLDDDD. But, here, I have Windows Vista Home Premium and a newww graphics adapter!!! Augh. If it played before...couldnt say for sure what the problem is..did you install or uninstall anything lately?. Maybe try a restore point to a previous time before the problem....I believe you have "on board " graphhics?? meaning.. no video card, but a graphics intergated on your motherboard....maybe the new graphics adapter for your chip set is causing a problem? I'd post all this on the Simns site to see if anyone else is having this issue. Sorry. |
