Screen resolution problem, need help.

I have a 9800gx2 and a syncmaster 2443bw connected via dvi.
I am using vista 64.
Here's the problem: Although my card supports 2xxx x 1xxx resolutions and my monitor supports 1920x1200 optimal; I can only reach 1920x1080 at maximum resolution.
All my drivers are up to date.
What can I do to solve this problem? Can I do anything? What is wrong?

Thanks for your help

Re: Screen resolution problem, need help.

your monitors resolution is the graphics cards limit unfortunately, my graphics card is 260 gtx and its capable of 2560 x 1600, but my monitor's optimum is 1920 x 1080, so thats all your gonna get, it restricts your resolution because your monitor doesnt support them. if you want higher resolutions, you need to get 30" Scan Computers UK: 30" Dell 3007WFP-HC Black Widescreen LCD, 2560x1600, 1000:1, 300 cd/m2, 8 ms, VESA, 4 USB Hub

MrNeeds, I don't think you read it right: he says his monitors optimal is 1920x 1200... Nice card man, I'd like to have one...

Striker, ask the samsung support team.

Re: Screen resolution problem, need help.

1920*1080 sounds like it's set for a HDTV resolution, rather than the monitors native 1920x1200. Have you had a look through the Nvidia control panel?
