PC Sees 2 Different GPU's

I installed a Radeon HD3870 into my Gateway GT 5676 pc which has/had intergrated HD 3200 on the MB. I used Driver Cleaner Pro to clear out the 3200 drivers and loaded the 3870 card and drivers.

When I run:
Device Manager it sees HD3870
System Info it sees HD 3870
GPU-Z it sees the HD 3870
BUT
Dx Diag sees the old 3200! and
C Cleaner lists the 3200

How do I get then all to see my HD 3870?

Thx, John

ps I think my benchmark scores are on the low side.

Re: PC Sees 2 Different GPU's

Hi John,

Have you checked to ensure that the onboard graphics are disabled in your BIOS? This should be automatic, but for some reason this is not always the case.

Re: PC Sees 2 Different GPU's

Hey D, THX for the reply.
I am unsure of how to set BIOS. I have a Foxconn Bengal RS780G MB (thur Gateway) and Foxconn offers NO Support on this (cheap?) board. BIOS is AmMega Ver. 7B3G1PO4 2/18/08. Pls view settings as I now have set them and advise. Thanks for your valuable time. I Know Foxconn/Gateway/ATI should be aiding me with this. John

RS-780 Config
a) Internal Graphics Mode - Set to Disabled. Choices are
1) Disabled, 2) UMA, 3) Side Port, 4) UMA + Sideport

Primary Video Controller - Set to C. Choices are:
a) GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI
b) GPP-GFXO-IGFX-PCI
c) PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX
d) IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI

Advanced PCI/PnP Settings. I have set to:
a) Clear NVRAM - NO
b) Plug n Play OS? - NO (I use Vista X64 OS)
c) PCI Latency Timer - [64]
d) Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA - YES
e) Palette Snooping - DISABLED
f) PCI IDE Busmaster - Enabled
g) OffBoard PCI/ISA IDE Card - AUTO

Thanks Again.

Nope, standard practice. Foxconn and any other manufacturer that makes parts for OEM builders do not support the products; despite who may have made it all support is through the system builder.

Now as far as these go,

1) Disabled, 2) UMA, 3) Side Port, 4) UMA + Sideport

Primary Video Controller - Set to C. Choices are:

d) Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA - YES
e) Palette Snooping - DISABLED
f) PCI IDE Busmaster - Enabled
g) OffBoard PCI/ISA IDE Card - AUTO
the only thing that needs to be changed to me is the one I bolded. This is what it says in the manual for my motherboard regarding that setting,

Quote:
Plug & Play O/S [No]
When set to [No], the BIOS configures all the devices in the system.
When set to [Yes] and if you install a Plug and Play operating system, the
operating system configures the Plug and Play devices not required for
boot. Configuration options: [No] [Yes]
