how do i change my screen resoulotion from 1280 - 1024 to 1440 - 900 for my 19 inch moniter. and when i go to display settings, the 1440 - 900 is not on the list that u can choose from. does anyone kno wat to do?

That may be because your monitor is not supporting the resolution you are looking for
Screen Resolution.
You may like to visit the website of your monitor and graphics card manufacturers, to check if you have the latest drivers.

On the left hand side of this page, click on the second one down with the little green icon SIW Standalone (English only)

If you are using a laptop, visit the laptop manufacturers site for driver downloads.

I believe Smartyeyeball was referring to giving SIW2 a +1 rep point for suggestion a program that he considered invaluable.
You may also need to install the separate monitor driver, and not the graphics card driver, as well if available to help have the correct native resolution to be available to change to.
