COD 4 graphics problems

Hi,

When I am in COD 4 the screen will randomly go inverted so I cant see anything except grays and stuff, not vista just the game. I have to alt + tab out and back to change it. Also I seem to be getting The "Display driver has stopped working and has recovered successfully" alot. In certain games like WoW it will go black for a second then run again.

I used to have a 9800GT and that used to blue screen me sometimes so I got a Gigabyte 4850.

I have the newest ATI drivers, newest windows updates.

I've heard some games dont like OCZ ram also I have 8GB so that may be making it a problem

Check my systems specs in the tab please.

Thanks,

Hi small heart, your system seems ok, apart from one thing, a 600W PSU for a Core 2 Quad processor? and all that power being used for your antec 900 case as well, my friend lee had a similar problem when i gave him my 8800GTS, he was running on a 300W psu and i gladly changed it for him, he now runs a 650W psu with no problems at all. I feel that maybe this is the problem, power is being used by the cpu and none left for the GPU.

Re: COD 4 graphics problems

its up to you, you dont have to stick to specific brands, that the beauty of computing, mix and match, i believe silverstone and asaka have good PSU's, depends on your budget though. Have a shop around and make sure you get a non-modular PSU with 85% efficiency, i would recommend coolermaster though.

I'm using a Thermaltake ToughPower 750W and it runs my system fine with no problems.

Re: COD 4 graphics problems

I'd say go for a pc power & cooling 750, they have a good reputation. I have one and it's working great for me! And not noisy either...

Re: COD 4 graphics problems

I had a similar problem with most of my games right after I installed Vista x64 and my problem turned out to be my 22" LCD monitor, I was using the 32bit drivers for it and Vista x64 was not playing well with it.

I was able to find 64bit drivers for it and, so far... it has not happened again (knocking on wood).

If your Device Manager is showing a PNP Generic Monitor or something similar to this abd bit the name of your monitor, you may have to find newer drivers for it.
