Black frame around screen

I need desperately answer,no one found the solution no one.

I have my Ati Radeon HD 3870X2 series connected (hdmi to hdmi) to my Samsung LE40A656F1.
But when i set a game to 1920x1080 resolution there is a black frame around the screen.
If i use an other resolution like 1360x768 there is no a black frame.
I always use the latest drivers and hotfix for my graphic card.

Black frame i mean black (empty)frame around the screen.
My graphic card is 1080p capable.
My tv is 1080p capable.
For now i test it with FarCry2,Sacred 2,Fallout 3,Dead Space,those games natively supports a resolution of 1920x1080p.

But i still get the black frame when i set the game resolution to 1920x1080p.

Any suggestions?

Re: Black frame around screen

I had the same problem when I switched to vista. I first changed my aspect ratio on my Samsung to 16:9 instead of Just Scan. This fixed almost most of the issue with only a tiny portion of the screen surrounded by a black frame. Then I went into CCC and at the DTV drop down menu there is a scaling option that you can access, mess around with this and it should fix it.

Re: Black frame around screen

wow, that is spot on that answer, to better explain what you saw, this is called video overscan, sometimes you see it when you watch tv and the writing on screen can be cut off, that is why video overscan needs to be disabled, since there is no specific option for overscan to be disabled, this can be manifested as scaling. hence if you change your scaling options to "Use my graphics cards scaling", this will resolve the issue.

What Qwik99 said doesnt work.(for us anyway)
Please read:In ati radeon 3870x2 works if switch to basic and do there the <<trick>> i wrote in my thread.
If you do it in advanced you will always have black frame,(is NOT working).
Just adjust in Catalyst-basic and then from windows back to any resolution you like, doesnt affect the in game resolution and no more black frame.
The scaling adjust automatically.
Tested in 2 computers 3 times,in my friend ati radeon 3870x2 pc vista ultimate 32bit,in my pc vista ultimate 32bit and again now with vista ultimate 64bit.
Please read carefully my thread 1920x1080 Gaming (Remove Black Frame),thanks.

Of course a big THANKS to Qwik99,to you and everybody/anybody reply and try to help me!!
Always appreciate!!
