| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: suggest a mid-range card Hi, dv29, and welcome to the forums. The only compatibility issues you *should* run into is if your motherboard supports PCI-e 2.0 or not. As for PSU requirements, visit eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5 and calculate it yourself...but be-warned, this will require some intimate knowledge of your computer components. |

| ultimate 64 SP1 | Re: suggest a mid-range card Hi dv29..... & welcome according to THIS i see no reason it wont work, but you already know your generic PSU probably wont cut it, does the existing PSU have a dedicated 6pin plug for PCI-e..?? a 9600 is hardly a power hungry card, depending on the amount of peripherals you have THIS will run the 9600 all day long & its a solid power unit. just use a DVI to VGA dongle found HERE SK |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: suggest a mid-range card If you don't want to have to worry about the power supply, a HD 4670 would be a very good choice. Performs for the most part between the HD 3850 and the HD 3870, and not too far off the 9600 GT, and does not require the extra power connector. |
