Tiny Vista graphics problems

I can't find a driver for my intel 82852/828255 GM/GME graphics controller.

I've downloaded and installed the driver for this card for xp, and ran the setup in compatibility mode multiple times now.

After I do the installation, it'll say your hardware was installed correctly, then I reboot as it says to do, and when the computer starts up the driver goes missing.

I've tried installing from the .exe provided by intel in xp sp2 compatibility, and I've tried installing from the .inf, and if I do the .inf in have disk I get a message that stops me saying it must be a 32 bit etc... and if I let the computer do the installation itself by leading it to the folder I've extracted the .zip of the driver into, it'll install and reboot and the driver will go missing again.

I don't know if this is a user error, a vista error, or a tiny vista exclusive error.

BTW I'm running this tiny vista on a toshiba satellite A55 (2003) with a 1.5 ghz celeron, and 512 mb of ram (it runs faster than xp did on this machine believe it or not)

Thanks for your time,
-Tyler

Re: Tiny Vista graphics problems

wait, nevermind, vista found a driver by itself just now, and it stayed after a reboot.

amazing OS, can't believe people can bad mouth it.

p.s. this forum can be closed, and to those who have similar problems like this in the future, just let vista find a driver online, it'll take a while, but it will find one.

Re: Tiny Vista graphics problems

Intel does not support vista for that graphics controller, but I dug around a few fourms and it does show that it should install with windows xp compatibility mode, are you using a 32bit driver? and maybe you could give this driver a shot, It was last updated in Feb 2006 so hopefully it works in compatibility mode. I uploaded it to my site so it shouldn't take that long to download if you have a decent connection.
