New Video Card

Hey guys I got a new video card. I'm going from a Radeon X1800XT to a Radeon HD 4850. Do I got to uninstall the old ATI drivers then reinstall them again for the new Radeon? Also being my old is DX9 and the new one is DX10, anything speical I got to do for it? I want to make sure I'm covered for DX10. Thanks guys

Re: New Video Card

Yes you need to uninstall and re-install the old drivers, or they won't work properly with the new card. Easiest thing to do if you haven't installed the new card yet is to uninstall the current drivers, shut down and swap the cards, restart and then install the drivers again (BTW the new Catalyst 8.12 are supposed to be due out this week).

As far as DX 10 goes, you have Vista so nothing to do/worry about there.

You could do, but un installing them through right clicking the desktop should be just as efficient.

I wouldn't. Just use the ATI Uninstall Utility found in Programs and Features (Add/Remove).
