Sapphire 4870x2

I am looking at upgrading to a Sapphire 4870x2. I see it has a 2 year warrenty. I usually replace graphics cards every two years. Has anyone used this card? Any issues?

Re: Sapphire 4870x2

I have been using PowerColor 4870x2 for about 5 months without a problem except the card gets pretty hot without the fan tweak manually by an utility or the latest version of ATI CCC itself. If you are plannig to get this card for gaming I advise you to consider the Nvidia options and the upcoming cards.(Especially GTX 295)

Re: Sapphire 4870x2

I'd probably hang on for another couple of months as well for the new cards to come out.

They can answer all your questions - General ATI Radeon Discussion - Rage3D Discussion Area. I'm a member there as well.

i would wait for the 295 GTX to be released on 8th Jan, thats directly competing against the 4870x2, which means if amd want to sell the beast, they WILL drop the price a lot more

Re: Sapphire 4870x2

Well looking at a few benchmarks, 2 GTX 260s in SLI outperforms a 4870x2, and the 295 is going to be priced competitively against the 4870x2, so I'd look at the 295s more if you have no personal preference between Nvidia and AMD.
