Hi Shawn4455, a newly installed graphic card will over ride the on board one. You don't have to disable anything in the bios like you might need for adding a sound card.
One additional step needed on top of what is given by darkassian. If you graphic card is one of the more powerful one, it will need its own power cable connection. The power connector usually are 4 pins with yellow wires as show below. If your power supply does not come with that cable, that means your power supply is inadequate or insufficient for that graphic card. Then you will have to replace the power supply with a more powerful one.
