My Media Players display black screen

My laptop with Vista displays black screen whenever I play video files.


I have the same problem with other media players on my stystem.

Any help from anyone please?:sick:

I downloaded Vista Codec Package 5,09 and installed it but it did not solve the probelm. The media player and Power DVD still display black screen although the sound track plays.

Any further solution to help me out of the problem?

If it is giving you sound but no video then it is most likly to be a codec problem.
What type of video file is it. Mpeg4, AVI, or other?
Are the video files downloaded from the internet, if so what site. Looking at the file might revieal its type as not all are common.
