Assuming that you have installed Nvidia System Tools, it should have set this on its own, meaning, you don't have to do anything.

For the most part, your GTX260 will handle the primary and the system will just use the secondary card as your PhysX card.

Amazing how this GPU + PPU issue is starting to pop-up I like it though, it means, we will be able to help each other all the more with the coming problems.

Re: GTX 260 sp 216 with Ageia Physx Card

Yep everything is up to date.. including Nvidia Driver..Just want to utilize my Physx Card. My old card is 8800 GTX which i have option to select my PPU. After i bought GTX 260 .. am wondering is it my PPU still in use ? the only option i have is enable / disable Physx . Kind of strange .

In the back of my head, I seem to remember Nvidia aqcuired Ageia and included their technology into their own cards, even improved it I think. I have 8800 GTX and a PhysX. Is there still reason to use the PhysX?

Yep that correct Nvidia did bought Ageia. I bought the card together with system, came cheap.. why don't try it.. just USD 33 . Game getting more complex after i have 8800 GTX. SOLD my 8800 GTX and bought GTX 260. Just to have nice 1920 x 1200 acceptable framerate.

when i plug my 8500gt in with my 260GTX in the nvidia control panel it comes up with enable/disable physx but it lets me choose which card i want to assign the physx accellerator to, it needs to be 2 Nvidia cards me thinks.

Re: GTX 260 sp 216 with Ageia Physx Card

AFAIR and IIRC, if you have Nvidia System Tools 6.02, you will only get the option to Enable/Disable, now, upgrading to the newest version 6.03 gives you the option to choose which card you want as Primary GPU and which one for PhysX as well as the Enable/Disable option... I could be wrong of course!

Which version of Nvidia Control Panel do you have? What are the option you have on the PhysX part of NV Control Panel?
