I just installed Vista Ultimate X32 on my PC (fresh install hdd formatted) and Vista recognized my NVidia 8600GT video card and installed the drivers... Now my resolution is 600x800 with 4 colors
. I uninstalled the drivers and downloaded the latest from NVidia and got the same results. Also when I look at the info in Device Manager it shows it as a NVidia 8600GT but has 2 little yellow marks next to it. When I go into the advanced area (for identifying the card) it has every item as N/A or unknown
. Before the format my OS was XP and it was working flawlessly. I am at a loss as to what the problem is.
BTW. I had tried to upgrade my XP with Windows 7 when it first came out in Beta) and had the same result.
I was hoping that the problem was because I was upgrading or that there wasn't a proper driver so I purchased the full version of Vista Ultimate.
