Display Wakeup

I actually realized that this thread should probably go here so,

When my computer turns the display off (as in the power management) and I go to wake up the display by moving my mouse, clicking, typing, etc. the screen flashes with horizontal lines for less than a second. Is this normal (I use a laptop)?

Re: Display Wakeup

Perfectly normal ..Your graphic card needs time to load.

Re: Display Wakeup

Thanks, I wanted to check another Vista machine to see if this was normal but I have no access to any other than my own. Now I can stop obsessing over the graphics there .
