The simple reason could be that the drivers for the card are for XP and not Vista but, it may very well be that you are looking on the wrong folder of the disk.
You will be better off downloading the latest drivers for it since the ones on the cd may very well be obsolete by now... GeForce Release 182
My advice is to also download the Nvidia Driver Sweeper from here... Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Once you have downloaded both, make sure you save them to a folder you can get to it later on. Uninstall the drivers you have now with the sweeper and after you reboot, make sure you install the new drivers but "Run as Administrator" instead of just double cliking on it.
If you installed it correctly, you should be able to go to Device Manager and under Video Devices you will see the name of your video card instead of just Std or Generic VGA drivers.
