ATI x800 driver issues

Ok so I'm running Vista Ultimate x86 and I recently had to switch from a nVidea to and ATI Radeon x800. I went and downloaded the most recent drivers and in the past few days my desktop randomly freezes or I get a bsod that does a mem dump. I've tried reinstalling vista and the drivers for the video card, but it still does it. Has anyone else had this problem? How in the world do I fix this.

Hello gsosure,

Do you have the stop code of the BSOD?

Can't say that's the cause of your BSOD's but in regards to your video card...

That card is an AGP card. Did you download the AGP hotfix - Catalyst AGP Hotfix - Radeon HD 3000 and Radeon HD 2000 Series AGP products

Or these - Catalyst AGP Hotfix resolves errors that result in a “No compatible hardware found†error related to Catalyst driver installation for ATI Radeon™ HD 2000 or ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 Series AGP video cards Though they look to be the same drivers.

Note that these DON'T address the X800 series card though. :). If that card is old...how old is your MB?

Just a thought
