I don't know what graphics cards will fit

Hello,
I have a computer that i built, that has a very old motherboard and a brown slot for a graphics card. The slot is very small and I don't know what graphics cards are compatible. could someone please post a list of the compatable graphics cards for this motherboard.

Hi Fastboy,

Here is a link to your motherboard manufacturer's website with all of the specs and more for it.

GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-6VEML

According to it, you have 3 PCI slots (white ones) and 1 ISA slot (brown one). It says that the motherboard already has a integrated video chip with a VGA output if you wanted to use it. If not, then you can use any older PCI (not PCI-E or PCI Express) graphics card.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Yes, for a PCI graphics card. If you add one, you will need to go into the BIOS and disable the integrated graphics chip afterwards.

Not sure on how much you'd want to spend on a PCI GPU but here's probably one of the better one's you could get.

Sparkle GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI, DVI, VGA SP94GT1024D2LHP at TigerDirect.com

Although you may have to look into an older card. I'm not 100% sure on if a PCI GPU and the Pentium 3 will have any bottlenecking issues. If that's the case you might want to look into something more of this quality.

its possible to connect an AGP card, the brown slot is AGP but on a smaller interface

the FX series of nvidia AGP cards can fit into this slot.

Thankyou everybody,
I will now have to decide on a graphics card.
I need one that has 64mb graphics and is reasonably cheap.

Its an old AGP board. Upgrade the computer. Don't upgrade this old setup.

I would agree with Michael. You can most likely get a newer motherboard that has a integrated graphics chip that would be better than most any graphics card you could buy for the old motherboard.
