New graphics card needed.

Hi all.

I am after a new graphics card for my computer but i need some advice as to wether it will run on my system or not.

I currently have an Nvidia Geforce 7300SE. and would like to upgrade.

Here are my system specs

hm... would it be better to get a 8000 or 9000 series card? like the 8600? or the 9600? or the 8800?

For that money I would try to get an 8800GT or 8800GS... 512MB Ram at least.

i looked at 8800's and i could find any for that price they were all 85+
so i think this is best :D

If you really dont want to go above £70 then the HD 4670 is prob the best you can get. Its energy efficiant using only slightly more energy than the card you have now and if you get the sapphire one its total cost will be £64.61. For a better card your probably going to have spend closer to £85.

As far as you power supply, you need to look at Amps the psu can generate. If the card recommends 24 amps to run correctly, match a psu that can generate 24 amps on the rail.

If i was you id go for something like this WOW

512mb of ram is really all you need and this version has gddr4 instead of gddr3. Which means the card memory is running faster than all the other 4670's. Heres an article on how much ram is needed for games its a few years old but still a decent reference LOOK

If you want a new power supply then you should always get the best you can afford. Look for reviews of powers supplys and make sure they have almost no drop in voltage when under load, high energy efficiency etc. I personally recommend a minimum spend of £80 when looking.
