New graphics card needed.

Hi all.

I am after a new graphics card for my computer but i need some advice as to wether it will run on my system or not.

I currently have an Nvidia Geforce 7300SE. and would like to upgrade.

Here are my system specs

OS
Vista Home Premium 32bit
CPU
Intel Pentium D Motherboard MSI Ms-7301 Memory 2GB DDR2 Graphics Card(s) Nvidia GeForce 7300SE Sound Card Realtek HD audio Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 19" widescreen Case Coolermaster Elite 334 Cooling x1 90mm blue LED front, x1 120mm blue LED rear


I have found this card and would like to know if i can use it.
BFG Tech - BFG NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT OC 256MB PCIe

Any help will be much appreciated.

hm... would it be better to get a 8000 or 9000 series card? like the 8600? or the 9600? or the 8800?

yes that is my board and my budget is only about £70 at the moment due to other money commitments.

I dont know much about nvidia cards so i cant recommend one. However you could get an ATI HD 4670 (which is what i use) for under £70. Heres a link Computer Hardware - All - GPU - ATI - Scan.co.uk

For that money I would try to get an 8800GT or 8800GS... 512MB Ram at least.

i looked at 8800's and i could find any for that price they were all 85+
so i think this is best

Consider your power supply!!!!!!!!!!!!! Larger cards need a good power supply!!!!!

If you really dont want to go above £70 then the HD 4670 is prob the best you can get. Its energy efficiant using only slightly more energy than the card you have now and if you get the sapphire one its total cost will be £64.61. For a better card your probably going to have spend closer to £85.
