WSXGA monitor resulution setup

hi guys,
i just bought a new Samsung syncmaster 2033sw...
to be used as an extension monitor from my laptop,
my graphic card is Intel Graphics Media
the driver for that comes along with my monitor is SyncMaster 2033SW/2033SWPLUS,SyncMaster Magic CX2033SW(Analog)

so, the resolution was suppose to be 1600 by 900,
but there's no such option in my "display setting"... (btw, i'm using vista)...
there's only an option for 1440 by 900. and even that comes after i updated the driver, the options were even worse before...

does anybody knows how i could possibly get a resolution option for 1600 by 900? could anybody help?
thanks guys....

Re: WSXGA monitor resulution setup

Try setting it to 1440x900, see what it looks like. Is your monitor 16:9 or 16:10?

Re: WSXGA monitor resulution setup

right now, it's 1440 by 900. doesn't really bad. actually it's good enough, but slight a bit stretched. so currently it it displays 16:10, but it's suppose to be 16.9 - that's why it's a bit stretched.

try 1280x720 or if possible 1920x1080

Re: WSXGA monitor resulution setup

According to the specs for that monitor, the native resolution is supposed to be...

Samsung SyncMaster 2033SW Specifications
Display: 20″ Wide TFT LCD
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Pixel Format: 1600 x 900

You may have to go into the video card's control panel and do a manual setup.

Re: WSXGA monitor resulution setup

and by the way guys,
i checked my intel graphic media accelerator driver's information.
it says that it supports 1600 by 900. and that was the highest that it could support.
but in my display option, it only displays up to 1440 by 900..
i don't understand how to solve this guys..

thanks for your help so far guys..

Right click the monitor and choose "Personalize", then "Display Settings", then "Advanced Settings", then look for the control panel for your graphics card.

Other then that, I don't own a laptop, nor would I know what options you have with an intel graphics card so I can't give step by step procedures. Perhaps your owners manual has them?

Sorry
