low profile case transfer

Ok, so I want to get a good mid to high range card. I have a slim/low profile case.
Is it possible for me to move my mATX mobo to a regular midtower atx case? This is the case I want:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Storm Sniper SGC-6000-KKN1-GP Black ABS Bezel, SECC Body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
and if I wanted to put a good psu in would it be fine? like a 600 watt. Would that be too much for my mobo? or could i put more case fans in? thanks. and if you dont mind, please dont suggest building a whole new computer. before i actually do that im gonna stick with this one until i get my new parts.

Re: low profile case transfer

a mATX card should fit in an ATX case, usually ATX cases will have screw holes for ATX boards and smaller boards.

an ATX board won't fit in an mATX case though.

I believe you shouldn't have a problem.. but to be sure you might want to check the specs of your case to make sure it has the screwholes to fit an mATX board.

You can do this in the case manual you got with the case or by checking its specs online on manufacturers site

An M.ATX board WILL fit in this case, it will also take any 600w PSU....

Re: low profile case transfer

As far as your power supply, you want to make sure the supply can power your video card. Look particularly at the amps your card needs to run and what the psu can generate. I suspect the 600 watt you speak of will be fine.

Nice card. I have one. Love it. Your PSU in the case should be fine to run it. Enjoy.

Re: low profile case transfer

700w PSU will be more than sufficient for the 9800GTX+.

I have an ASUS 9800GTX+ and I run it just fine with a 650W PSU.

The thing you want to look for is the connectors. a 9800GTX+ card requires TWO 6 pin PCI connectors:

As long as your PSU has these you're fine.

(note: most PSU's nowadays have atleast 2 of them standard anyway, and if they dont they usually have 1 + a convertor dongle)

Re: low profile case transfer

ok since i really dont need a 700w psu, i dont need it because i am using stock parts (except for ram) and will be using a gtx+
is that fine?

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS600-PCARE3-US 600W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Power Supplies
does this meet the req? 12v rails and 24 amps??
thanks

if any other wattage is needed just say so, higher or lower.
oh and is modular needed? is it what i should have?
