Yeah sorry i was abit vague .

You're still a bit vague.

Have you tried turning down the overclocks? - You've got that i7 920 overclocked a nearly 1gig. I know everyone says to clock it that high, but it doesn't mean it'll run stable like that.

Is the card getting enough power? Have you got the extra power connector connected to the MB to power the PCI slots for the card?

What are all my games? - List some.

Questions
The games are GTA4 ,crysis ,cod4 .The pc was built by overclockers UK I havnt tried turning down the overclocks im not really sure how to do that. The system ran fine for a couple of days then stopped working so well.I think it could be the latest drivers that caused the problem .Il try using the drivers on the disc that came with it later today .

If the problems persists, I'd have a talk with the system builders.

yeah i was asking about your psu mate because those symptoms can and have been related to an unstable power supply , it may not be your issue but its worth a shot , is it a new machine or has it been stable and all of a sudden gone faulty?

As its overclockers im assuming its one of their pre o/c'ed machines , its a worth a shot at clocking it back to stock and seeing what the results are , if its stable then you have grounds for sending it back as i assume they will guarrentee that o/c

Ive thoroughly explored my theory of it being the drivers and im now sure its not that.Ive spoken to overclockers who told me to run furmark which ive done and everyhting seems fine.
I will call them again tommorow and see what they say .

My Computer

Is it a 4870x2 or two 4870 cards?

A 4870/2 doesn't make it very clear.

Again, since its a new machine, have it looked at! No need in killing brain cells for something that's under warranty. Since they overclocked it they should also be able to troubleshoot it's performance issue(s).

Telling you to run furmark isn't fixing your problem.

Just my two cents.

god.....:(, i hear no end of horror stories about OCUK.

when you ran ''furmark'' did it jolt, or was it smooth..??

the rig may not be fully stable...?? have you run ''Orthos''..??, if not run this app on......

''blend & stress'' setting @ priority 8 for 10mins, this will show up any weak OC in a matter of seconds...

if an error occurs ''back the machine'' (after sending them screenies of the error via email) ;)

I see no reason to run all those performance apps. My attitude is that if I bought an overclocked machine, it should run at the overclocked speed without problems....that's why I paid YOU (the company) to overclock it!!! If not, fix it, or return my money.

If a company is stupid enough to OC a processor by nearly a gig, then any performance problems is on them. I shouldn't have to downclock the system for it to be stable, otherwise what did I pay for???

If it still under warranty, make "them" fix it!

Again, my two cents.

P.S. I see where your coming from skunksmash, but still...

hi,yeah I ran orthos .No errors have come up .its saying this though for CPU speed.
1596MHz FSB: 133MHz [133MHz x 12.0 est.]
furmark ran smoothly .

My Computer

dont worry about the clock speed orthos gave you, its probably not configured for the i7 yet, but it will still stress the H/W...

so your saying ''furmark'' (a SUPER intensive benchmark) ran completely smooth, what was the AVG FPS..??, did you run it on ''benchmark'' or ''stability''

if you can run it on ''stability'' for 3mins smoothly, it cant be a GPU or GPU driver issue..??

Sygnus... if he sends the machine back without tracking down the problem, they will simply fob him off with...''oh well it seems fine to us sir..?? we've tested it with our SUPER advanced machinery'' & just send it back to him...

i don't suppose there is any way you could get hold of another PSU..??, the stutter ''could'' be related to that, but again ''furmark'' should of shown this.....

are you playing these games ''online'' by any chance..??

Auto settings .But I thought this set up would be able to max out the settings .Im getting 51fps with GTA but am still getting lag although I have heard this game isnt very good with my graphic card.
But that doesnt explain wny crysis and cod4 dont run very well.
