| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Nvidia problem I keep trying to access NVIDIA control panel, but it keeps bringing up a crash window that says NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL APPLICATION, 2.4.370.04 HAS STOPPED WORKING I haven't been able to access the control panel for weeks. Anything else you need to help you figure out what's wrong just ask (please no-one tell me to reinstall windows and format my hard drive, I'm not being rude, its just not feasible) Thanks so much dandadandan |

| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Nvidia problem Assuming you have the latest drivers, don't forget to Uninstall the PhysX drivers as well before any attempts of installing new ones. NCP always gives me problems with Vista, whether is one area or another... luck of the draw I guess. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Nvidia problem OK so I have uninstalled the drivers (not the display drivers coz then I can't see the screen) The nvidia control panel won't start up still, is there any way to completely remove all display drivers and then rout the display to my motherboard? or even use the graphics cards without the nvida drivers? I'm pretty sure tat's what happens in safe mode anyway |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit SP2 | Re: Nvidia problem the control panel is integral in the NVidia driver pack , you dont need to uninstall the physX driver , NVidia recommends simply installing over the top (physX only), download the latest drivers for your gpu thendownload and install the free version of driver cleaner Driver Cleaner Professional download from Guru3D.com uninstall your drivers through control panel when prompted to reboot boot into safemode run driver cleaner and select "multiple cleaning options" browse the list and select Nvidia GPU and NVidia control panel (obviously ignore the nvidia chipset entry) select the "clean" option then wait till its done reboot to desktop and install your drivers if it works try and remember to do this everytime you install new drivers , it helps prevent problems from conflicting reg entries (which are rare but can happen especially when updating to mch newer drivers) |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Nvidia problem nah, there's a lot of cloud cover about, they're bound to be everywhere....... ![]() SKhaha.. wait ATI users. What Catalyst are you on again.. wait what, your CCC doesn't work, or it's crashing. you ATI people have the same problems. To the OP! The Nvidia Display drivers are exactly what you need to uninstall.. you can uninstall the display drivers, and still boot regular, everything will just be huge, but it's better, and safer to enter safe mode. So. Go ahead and uninstall nvidia display drivers, run Driver sweeper if you'd like. Reboot. go into safe mode. and reinstall new drivers. and reboot. Also, If this does not work.. PM me. as I had the same problem where Nvidia Control Panel was crashing for me. and I could not enable my second GTX260 for SLI. I even emailed Nvidia and waited a week for a response and they could not help me.. I tried about 5 different Driver versions. and nothing worked. then on some random site. I got a suggestion to try some weird thing, and actual enter and delete some registy files.. and it worked. So as a last resort, if trying to uninstall and reinstall the actual display driver does not work for you. let me know. I'll try and find the thread where I got my answer. I should be able to find it. Good luck! SK[/quote] |
