x1550 power consumption

Hi guys, i recently bought an ATI radeon x1550 video card 256 MB dual port(dvi and vga). My power supply unit is of 230 Volts. I just want to know if its ok to put this card in my computer looking at the power supply?
The reason i m asking this is because i bought this card a week ago and when i installed it, the screen worked fine just for 3-5 mins and then everything became blurry and i messy. When i removed the card, it became very hot. So i replaced the card from the shop but i m afraid to put this new card again in my computer.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Dinesh.

Hi Dinesh

I would test the card on another system if you can or take it back to be tested.

Re: x1550 power consumption

Dinesh the only way you are going to know is to test it, if the card is installed into a 230v system and it does not work - you have your answer.
