| Vista Home Premium x64 | components interfering with video card Hello there. I am just about to purchase a 9800 gtx+ (alt. gts 250) I opened up my case and just noticed this. The sata cables would block the card (10.5 inches long) If I used 90 degree ones would that clear it all up? Also There is a heatsink right there the gray one. I believe that is the integrated graphics one, I don't use those I am using a video card. So can that heatsink be removed so problems? The circles are representing the heatsink and sata cables. The two lines are how long the gtx+ is. It takes up two pci slots. |

| Windows 7 x64 | Re: components interfering with video card Right angled cables would be fine, but you'd only be able to fit one of them on there as two would over-lap each other as well. You shouldn't remove that heatskin as it's cooling your southbridge chip, which is the chip that controls your PCI bus, power managment, USB etc. If you got the GTS 250, you wouldn't have as much of a problem as it's a shorter card. |

| ultimate 64 SP1 | Re: components interfering with video card as Everlong says....the GTS250 would fit, but i know you like the GTX+, so cant you just move one of the connections down to the blue port, the card *might* just clear it.....but you will need a right angled cable for the last red port. ![]() i have the same deal on my board, my GTX260 completely blocks 3 SATA ports... luckily it has 6 .... | ultimate 64 SP1 | Re: components interfering with video card Unfortunately i dont know your board..... you will have to hunt down the GTS250 dimensions & measure the slot, there's a lot better chance of the 250 going in than the 9800. SK |
