single PCB GTX295.....

Zol.com.cn has managed to take some pictures of the upcoming single-PCB GeForce GTX 295. Expected to arrive within a month, the single-PCB GTX 295 features the same specs as the dual-PCB model - 2x448bit memory interface, 480 Processing Cores and 1792MB of GDDR3 memory, and GPU/shader/memory clocks of 576/1242/1998 MHz respectively.

well...... hopefully this wont cost an arm & a leg & will push other card prices down slightly.

the original 295 is gonna hold its very high price due to the materials used (much like the GX2)..

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

this is a good idea since 2 pcb slapped together was really lazy. Are the heatsinks big enough do you reckon?

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

I'd be interested to see how the temps go with those. I also wonder how loud that puppy would be

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

why they don't use all copper heat sinks & add a few quid i'll never know....... these things need all the help they can get in regard to cooling

this does possibly open a window for a quad GPU card in the future..... using this new PCB, & using the old GTX295 sandwich design, that would be a monster, A RED HOT MONSTER....lol

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

lol, people joke about fires and melting now. A quad on a single slot can make that a reality....

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

Well, its certainly made me change my mind as i was going to invest in one of the dual boarded cards, but now..

And yes the temps will be interesting, but if they are not the best, then i hope they come up with a W/C block quickly.

Does anyone know what its going to actually be called, i.e. is it just going to get called the GTX 295 single card as they can't release it with the name ' SIngle PCB' GTX 295 or something stupid like that.

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

As far as I know there won't be any name change, and the single PCB version won't be distinguished on the box in any way. They probobly want to sell out the 'sandwiches' as well this way, so the only way to see if you're buying single or double PCB version is by opening the box in the shop... or at your home.

Re: single PCB GTX295.....

I'm sure they'll have a sticker on it or something like that saying it is a single PCB version.

That's like not letting the buyer know if it's a 216 core version of the GTX 260 as opposed to the 192 core, or distinguishing between the 8800GTS 320/640 and the 512 version.
