Desktop and system tray fade after installation of Vista SP2

I just installed Vista SP2 and now my desktop colours are faded and the taskbar is faded.

I have an ATI RAdeon HD 2400 Pro graphics card.

I just updated the ATI drivers from the AMD site and it hasn't fixed the problem.

The strange thing is that when I have a web browser open, the task bar at the bottom looks like it should do, a rich black colour with a 3-D effect.

Can anyone please help me out using simple terminology?

Thats odd i've also updated to SP2....seem ok for me. perhaps you need to check your monitor screen resolution. Though i'm using NVIDIA
