Vista Tutorial - 185.85 drivers cause some games to have low textures, help needed?

tis the needs, have a bit of a problem with Nvidias latest drivers, updated to 185.85 drivers yesterday and i have an issue with grid and trackmania United forever, low resolution textures are apparent in both games but not all games.
heres a screenshot of trackmania united forever with low textures, all settings are maxed in game, settings worked perfectly with 182.50 drivers

and here are the nvidia control panel settings as they are when i took the picture, no settings changed in trackmania

you may want to turn off the ''forced vsync''


a few ppl are having 185 issues, many found reinstalling them helped.... have you tried the 186's ..??

installed the 186.08 drivers last night and have the same effect, vsync is always enabled and i cant stand vertical tearing.

you wont get the tearing if you leave it set to ''application controlled'' & just use the game vsync option, but if its left on in the control panel it causes benching problems & gaming issues if you dont get enough throughput for vsync...

theres no settings for vsync in trackmania, i think its openGL, but im not sure.

i would suggest a reinstall, but i dont think that will solve it considering you never had an issue on earlier drivers....

the newer driver just may not like this game at all....., if thats the case there's nothing you'll be able to do while using them.

oh well, i think its the new drivers with ambient occlusion that nvidia are so despirately optimising, its playable and performance has increased in trackmania but i have an eye for detail and its really annoying at times.
i rolled back the driver to 182's and this is how it looked before the driver update. no settings have been changed in nv or trackmania:

It is the nature of the beast I am afraid. Not all drivers are going to work with all cards on all programs.
I dont have this game so I can not help you.

it's ok roy, im plodding through with the 182 drivers, they are working A OK on my system and all games are fine, just any driver with ambient occlusion on is the problem....

When I downloaded the drivers I turned this option off in the control panel as it is not supported by most games.
