Vista - Can't Install new drivers for 7950gx2

Hi I have Vistax64 and a Nvidia 7950gx2 and recently (a few months or more) I've been getting BSOD. I've ignored it but yesterday as I was gaming it was happening alot and making me angry so I decided to spend my day today trying to fix it. Normally I get the same BSOD but sometimes it is random.

I belive it's my Video card Nvidia 7950gx2 everytime I try to update drivers my pc crashes in the middle of installing. I had this problem when I first installed Vista as well eventually Windows installed a driver it found and I was able to work with Vista. It seems everytime I try to unistall or install a Nvidia website driver I get a BSOD constantly. I have to go into safe mode just to uninstall. Currently I am running on whatever driver windows found.

I didn't get a chance to write down the parameters I do have windbg but don't remmeber how to use it. I can't open the dump files because of permissions.

Just an update I was able to install the newest Nvidia drivers *beta (had to do it in safe mode) I've tried this in the past and it didn't allow me to. After a restart I got 2 crashes in a row (not the one mentioned above) I will let you know how things go.

there were alot of problems with that card when it came out , driver support was shocking , most got rid of the card as they just gave up on it , others found a driver that worked and stuck with it , is it a new problem? did it work fine on an earlier driver? If so your best sticking with it and hoping a game doesnt come out that needs newer driver architecture.

and , as soon as you can , sell it and get somthing else :P

The drivers windows installed were horrible pc would just get a bsod and crash randomly... now pc seems fine but the game crashes evert few hours or so but thats ok id rather restart a game then have my pc crash about 3 times in a row. I planned you upgrade my entire pc but I'm unemployed now so I can't I want to get GeForce 9800 GX2 do you know if their are any problems with that card?

erm..........id stay away from the 9800 too mate ha ha , look towards a 260 or higher if you can manage , same performance less hassle
