| Newbie | Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200 OK, I've got the two monitors hooked up to the splitter cable, I open "personalize" display and it tells me monitor two is "not active". It does, however, display Monitor 1 as a clone. How do I activate the second monitor so that when I extend the desktop I can open up windows separately? Something in the driver configuration I'm missing? |

| Newbie | Re: Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200 Follow-up based on some advice here: In Catalyst, Monitor will enable for 1 second or so and then become disabled again. I am therefore unable to "extend the desktop" to enable multiple applications as intended. So where do I go and what do I need in order to permanently engage Monitor 2? Both are Dell flat screens, FWIW, attached to a Dell Inspiron |

| Newbie | Re: Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200 In other words, since I can't enable it since it won't let me enable it, I'm SOL? Sheesh, I'm not interested in TV or movies, I just want to have a couple of productivity programs open side by side so I can make a living. If it matters it's a new 64bit machine, AMD Triple core, 8 Meg. If I hook one up to the HDMI instead of the splitter, do I have a snowball's chance of not having to buy a new video card? |

| Member | Re: Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200 What is the make and model of your motherboard? Also does it only have the VGA and HDMI ports; or does it have VGA, HDMI and DVI? Reason for asking is my board (Asus M4A78 Pro) has all three, and any two of them can be used at one time. Specs on the 780G/HD 3200 chipset, AMD M780G Specifications Quote: ATI SurroundView™ Technology Provides support for four or more monitors when you combine an integrated graphics processor (AMD 780 chipset-based motherboard) with a discrete graphics processor (ATI Radeon™ HD 2400 Series2 or ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 Series). Each additional discrete graphics processor can provide support for two or more independent monitors. The integrated graphics processor and the discrete graphics processor work in parallel to drive multiple displays. P.S. Even if both monitors were working, using a splitter will give nothing more than the same thing on each with no way of changing it. |

| Newbie | Re: Dual Monitors in ATI Radeon HD 3200 I've got no idea where to look in "System" to determine what's on the motherboard and isn't. The video card has a cache. |
