| Member | Nvidia Graphics card on wrong partition Ok, I am NOT a big computer person. I got a quad core gateway that has a nvidia 9600 graphics card. I upgraded to vista business (or thought i did) and it created a partition (c-1) and put business on there. So now it boots to the partition and I can't use my graphics card there. it only shows up on E. Can someone help me in simple terms to fix this? Or is it beyond simple terms? thanks. |

| Lost in Cyberspace | Re: Nvidia Graphics card on wrong partition This is very simple really, perhaps a bit complex at the beginning but you'll get the hang of it quick enough. All you need to do is Update your Video Card driver and you'll be In like Flynn ![]() At the top of this forum page, there is a Sticky Post advising of new drivers, go to it and click on the link, follow instructions on how to download your driver, pay special attention to the system you have as your driver will probably be different for x32 or 64 bit computers. Once you have your driver downloaded on a folder (or desktop), make sure you Right Click on it and use "Run as Administrator"... reboot when it ask you and come back to tell us how it went. Good Luck |

| Member | Re: Nvidia Graphics card on wrong partition I did that, but it just updated the driver on the other partition. My bootup drive (the one vista business is on) is still only seeing a standard VGA monitor. But I go to the other partition and it's got the nvidia software, driver, etc. on it. I just want to be able to use the nvidia on the vista business and the boot up drive. Hmmm. |

| Member | Re: Nvidia Graphics card on wrong partition ok, just went in and looked at my specs and my vista business disk. My main drive is operating on vista home premium 64 bit, and my c-1 partition is operating on vista business 32 bit. Is that my problem? I need vista business 64 bit? |

Each installation is a separate entity in its own right, and each therefore requires the drivers to be installed exclusively. |

| Member | Re: Nvidia Graphics card on wrong partition ok, so if I go to nvidia on my "partition" which isn't showing the nvidia card, download the correct driver, install it correctly, I should be able to see my card on this partition. It sounds like only a driver issue. Should I uninstall my current vga driver before I install nvidia? |

Be sure to install the correct version and to reboot when you have installed (even if it states that it doesn't need to). |

Remember that the same principle also applies to the other drivers on your system - audio, keyboard, mouse, etc. |
