Hi, i'm in a very big trouble.
I tried updating my ATI HD 3450 graphic cards and i went through the procedure from the given release note in ATI website before downloading the ATI software.

Here's what i did:
- Uninstall ATI install manager from program features - uninstall/change program.
-check in local disk if there's any ATI associates files and delete
-reboot
-install the 9.6 ATI package (option 1)
-reboot.

Here's what happen:
-During the installation, i chose custom installation but there's only ATI install manager and something C++ but there's no CCC, WDD and WDM
-When i go to device manager, the display is still using default VGA driver instead of ATI driver.

so right no, pretty much i'm just using VGA default display.

I'm using Window Vista Home premium 32bits.

please help me, i don't want to restore my computer.

Thanks~

yes i did get the full catalyst suite.
i chose the custom installation coz sometimes they offer trial games and i don't want that.
btw, do i really have to uninstall the previous version in order to use the new version properly?

its always better to uninstall the previous version mate yes , just incase of any incompatibilities :)

is the driver and catalyst control center showing up in your programs list?

If you install the official drivers from ATI you should never get anything but the drivers and control center , have you tried reinstalling and letting the instaler do a default install?

yeap, i got it from ATI official website.
during the installation, before the catalyst install manager pops up, the window asked me something about extracting ATI folder, so i chose yes. the rest of the procedures continues..again without ccc, wdm and wdd files installed.
then after that when i open my local disk:
- An "ATI" folder exist with "9-6_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu..." folder in it.
- when i enter program files:
another "ATI" folder with something in it. and "ATI technologies" folder but empty in it.

to answer your question above: no, there's no CCC showing up in programs list.

sorry to giving u so much trouble, i wish i know all this to myself~

I dont think thats your problem but yes its definately a good idea , just incase they changed anythingat ATI to fall into line with any changes brought about by service pack 2 , its also a good idea for security rasons to stay up to date with windows :)

Try this , download this and install Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

uninstall your drivers in the normal way then reboot , but boot into safemode and run driver sweeper

select ati display and then clean

rebbot into windows and reinstall your new drivers , using the default method

see if it helps

don't get confused with Mobility Radeon and Radeon itself ya. That was my problem before this, I didn't see there was a specific update for "Mobility Radeon".

you can check it here:
