Both of them are the same (this is a good thing ) and pojnts to your drivers , however the faulting ID is graphics driver TDR fault TDR stands for time detection and recovery and is the point where vista should detect a fault then reset your drivers , giving you the notorious display driver stopped responding and recovered note

This seems to be failing though and resulting in a bluescreen

try uninstalling then reinstalling your drivers for your gpu see if it helps , i will get more info from the crash dumps and see what else pops up

Re: Ati Radeon 3870x2 problem

you have a few outdated drivers some going back to 08 , one to points to your 1394 bus (firewire) and usmd.sys so im thinking you should update your motherboard drivers/chipset drivers.

one also points to eamon.sys being very outdated , have you used are are you using Eset antivirus / Nod 32?

alot also point to Vista but im assuming your OS is all up to date so this must be normal

the thing is it essential to keep up to date with all drivers , i used to be of the opinion if it works then dont try to fix it , but this isnt always the case with drivers. especially if your chipset drivers are outdated. They could however just look outdated as they could be using the same drivers for certain components they have been using for years , whereas others in the package may be new

The problem with your bluescreen is its not being caused by your gpu driver failing although it is failing ,i think its being caused by the resulting process Vista brings into play to reset your driver (in my humble opinion , hopefully someone else will jump in with some ideas from the .dmp) as its unable to reset the driver in the alloted time it bluscreens

Code:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa8007c4a010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffffa600261d070, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: ffffffffc0000001, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
Arg4: 0000000000000003, Optional internal context dependent data.

So all is pointing to your GPU driver failing , but the .dmp files are not telling us why , so update everything and see what happens and if you can remember exactly whats happening at the time of your bluscreen

Re: Ati Radeon 3870x2 problem

i asked him what driver he was using, i have the same video card and seen the error message all the time in event viewer. it was not fixed till the latest catalyst from 9.2 onwards. he needs to uninstall everything and use a driver cleaner then install the newest catalyst. i fixed mine by doing a clean install and installing the newest chipset drivers then the new catalyst. from what you are saying he has some broken parts of the driver that need cleaned up. typical way for me to clean up is to format and install windows fresh which i believe should be done at least once a year to stop things like this. just my .02 though
