mohaa in vista new laptop

i've had it. need a drink!!!! i cant get mohaa to run. updated drivers rebooted, reinstalled game, and STILL am getting "GLW_startopenGL not found" what am i doing wrong???? i am new to laptops so not sure if i CAN play mohaa, but i can't see any reason not to be able to. i know this may be an old issue, but i'm a newbee to this so any help will be great. many thanx, Del.

just checked your laptop specs and i have to admit that the intel series of graphics cards are useless in everything they do, sorry to dissapoint, but if you want to play games on a laptop, you need to spend more than £400, it does support OpenGL 2.1 but in this case, it would be like playing crysis on a windows 95 computer

Download GLDirect 5.02 - Allows you to run OpenGL-based games and other applications using your graphics card`s DirectX 6.x drivers - Softpedia

Also go here and update your drivers.

Download Software, Drivers and Utilities Filters

Short answer is no. It has a video chip as opposed to a "card" On this model laptop they use two types of MB, one has an integrated chipset, (yours), and on the other type there is an ATI option. I know your graphics are not the best, but it should run an older game like this. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

when you have done that try a no cd patch, make sure to backup your original.

Hmm i thought OpenGL was overall faster than the DirectX API. sorry if im mistaken but every game ive played with OpenGL seems to run alot smoother than DirectX.

begining to loose the will to live. lol. web wont open the link you sent, and i am running the no cd patch. all this agro because my desk top packed up, being repaired as we "type" i thought a new lap top would run any old games like mohaa. well as far as pc world people as concerned it will!!!!!! thanx for all your hard work looking for a solution for me. D

if your using a No CD crack/patch, then it's like my problem i had with serious sam 2. some of the cracks mess up a path for the original game files that have been coded for that specific path.

You need to check for what version you have mohaa at and if you downloaded the crack for THAT specific version ONLY. if not, chances are thats probably why your getting that OpenGL error as i did somewhat with SS2.

Reinstall the game and acquire the right crack if you need to.

OpenGL is slower than DirectX, thats why most games nowadays use DirectX but leave compatability for OpenGL, OpenGL is software based and DirectX is hardware based, if the card fits, then the performance will always be faster with DirectX
