| Vista home premium 32bit | Half blue monitor?! Alright short story I was just sitting here then all of a sudden my monitor just shot half the screen blue one side was normal the other half was blue and I was so scared that my color tube in my tv was shot, but oddly Nvidia panel was still natural color so then I changed the refresh rate from 60 to 59 hertz and the screen went back to its normal state. Now do remember I am using my 27" tv as my monitor and I am using a HDMI to DVI cable. All I want to know is what caused this why did it do this and if my Tv is in danger of being fried at all? |

| Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 | Re: Half blue monitor?! In cable TV, they send the audio at a rate of 59.994 or something like that and the Video at 58.994 (making it 59 hz) if thats the reason, just keep it at 59 hz as HDMI probably doesnt support over 59 hz (the difference in image quality is nothing from 59 to 60 and some res's are easier to acheive at 59 than 60 for an odd reason). This article i read the other day said that even if the TV can support up to 120 hz, that processing is done in the TV and not the device that sent the data (and that 120 hz is basically used for 3D virtual video sent from a dual-link cord like Dual-link DVI and Nvidia's 3D Vision on a 120 hz monitor). Alright now my monitor is currently like this now, I can't do anything about it changing the refresh rate or anything does not work, and it is the same on all of the different channels throughout it, like HMDI 1 and 2, Video 1 and 2, and so on, I am guessing that my tv is finished... |

Can you even use your TV's settings menu to at least see if there is a factory settings option? or is it blue and no control is available? I mean, can you even watch TV on it? If it were shot, the thing shouldn't display at all, which is quite weird why your screen is constantly blue. |

Then I dont know man. should get it looked at a service store or call up support for it. you could be right and be shot. What brand is it (toshiba, hitachi, samsung, panasonic, LG)? |
