nVidia Control Panel issue - STUMPED :(

For days I've been trying to get to the bottom of a problem with the nVidia Control Panel stopping working. I put all my system details in my profile here, but to be brief I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit and the card is a Gigabyte nVidia 9800GT with 1GB of video RAM. I have installed the drivers that originally came with the card, the updated drivers from the manufacturer's website, as well as most of the latest nVidia drivers directly from nvidia. All of them give a similiar result. when I try to open the nvidia control panel I get a message simliar to the following:

Microsoft Windows
NVIDIA Control Panel Application, 2.7.150.02 has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem

-> Check online for a solution and close the program
-> Close the program

Unfortunately checking online doesn't give a solution. The only thing that changes is the Application Version (depending on which driver I was trying out at the time) and of course the Time stamp. I have tried driver cleaners, installing in safe mode, the works. At this point I'm frustrated to TEARS!! I have NO idea what to try next and Gigabyte (who makes my card) apparently has no phone tech support, and hasn't replied to any of my inquiries about fixing the problem. I do need the nvidia control panel to make adjustments to the video as my system is connected via HDMI to my 42" flatscreen 1080p HDTV. With my old ATI 3650 I installed the latest drivers and I had perfect 1080p video. Something with nVidia drivers and Vista 64 bit seems to simply not work.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

UPDATE: if I connect the nvidia card with VGA, the picture looks HORRIBLE but the control panel comes up. If I connect DVI to HDMI or HDMI to HDMI the error message comes up.

Hi shaere and welcome to Vista Forums

This does sound as though it is a bug in the driver software. I suggest that you fill in this form NVIDIA GeForce and ION Driver Feedback and please keep us posted with what you provided to them, and also on their response.

Just a small addition to what dwarf has said,
C0000094 is a divide by zero error.

The latest drivers are buggy.

Uninstall the drivers in safe mode then install this one in safe mode.
