Hey, well i plan on upgrading my graphics card on my custom built PC, i currently have a ATI HD4830 and i dont kow wether i should get CrossfireX with a 4850/4870 or just buy a single 4890, i need some advice.

5800's?! i didnt realise they existed! well my budget cant stretch to £300 so i think im going to stay in the 4800's. i dont need any more advice guys, i think im just going to get a 4890, less hassle then using multiple GPU's

aw.... ok haha.... but... just look and the HD5870 and behold its beauty :D i think acutally they are only about.... £275 or so... i know they are $380... depending on what you could find one for :D haha...
oh just so you know... the 5870 is as fast as the gtx 295......... except the 5870 is a single core.... :D its twice as fast as the 4890 and faster than a 4870X2

How much do you expect me to get for a graphics card that is 8 months old, second hand, and outdating? xD
i already made up my mind, im going to stick with my stuff i got at the moment, and just completely rebuild my PC at christmas

  • and then crossfireX with my current 4830 and a XFX HD4870

Owee $400 bones for a video card thats like half the amount my whole PC cost....It was an introductory price its around $1100 now heh.

so what if the card was a fake? let's be realistic: if i take my dell laptop, peel the sticker off and put a voodoo pc sticker on it, does that make it a voodoo? or if i take the sticker off my 4870 and call it a 5870, does that make it a real 5870? hell no! the real question is: how do you bench something that doesn't exist? :rolleyes:

and that video was whack! what did it tell me about the new nvidia card? it is mirror coated? cool, i can see the reflection of the rest of the components in my case? that's really cool *super sarcasm*;)

he knows pizzaman ;), there were some crossed wires over the pronunciation of (2x 4870's = 4870x2) & (2x 4870x2 = 4x 4870's)

the 5870 will out perform a 4870x2.
