nvidia and ati question

this may be obvious to you guys.... but here i go!

why is that ati have higher speed cores and memory bandwidth and look like they would thrash nvidia, but is seems nvidia have lower specs and still have higher fps.

because of the way the nvida cards have their shaders or whatever it is.... and the 5870 still has the highest specs and kills

Games are built for nvidia, but anyway, ATI is still the way to go!

I'm sorry, but what? What happened to nvidia to the death? Did they die? lol j/k

And not all games are being built for nvidia. The most recent S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat now has an ATI logo where the nvidia one used to be...

Need I mention the (few) DirectX 11 titles coming out? Who do you think they are being optimized for?
