Some games can have varying degrees of graphical glitches when using CF/SLI. On the odd occasion it can cause crashes in some games, but these are usually sorted by drivers and patches, or by disabling CF/SLI.

Some people complain about 'micro-stutter' , although I've never had an issue with it.

You can't run 3 monitors with CF enabled (I believe the same goes for SLI )

Two cards = Twice the noise. Twice the power usage as well.

Not all games scale well with CF/SLI. In fact some games run better with a single GPU. Again this is usually sorted by drivers and patches.

Generally speaking though, CF/SLI works very well and the performance increase can be very noticeable.

Re: Sli & crossfire

and if you do get microstuttering and you notice it (some dont) its the most annoying glitch you'll ever come across , without going into too much detail its all to do with the two cards being slightly out of sync

Re: Sli & crossfire

i wish i could help you out... (with some problems)

i honestly have not had any problems running my crossfire setup (4870) in either vista or windows 7--hardware, drivers, or games. the majority of games i have are through steam, and the few that i have that are not by way of steam work equally as well too.

(hawx, world of goo, pure, bioshock all purchased and installed by disc. steam games: audiosurf, burnout paradise, half life, hl2, hl deathmatch, hl2: ep 1, hl2: ep 2, peggle deluxe, peggle nights, portal, team fortress 2, trackmania united forever)
